Tomorrow, we gather

Good morning from the Arizona Heroes Memorial! Did you know that every year on August 7th, the United States honors the brave men and women that have distinguished themselves through bravery and earned the Purple Heart medal? This medal, originally known as The Badge of Military Merit, was first established in 1782 by General George Washington. It is awarded to military members wounded or killed while serving our nation in action. It is the nation's oldest award to honor U.S. military members. We will be hosting The Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) Ft. Lowell Chapter 442 on Friday, August 7th at 8:30 am. At this ceremony, the Memorial's new Purple Heart medallion will be unveiled near the US Flag in the Paver Garden to honor all Veterans who have been awarded this prestigious medal. We encourage all Purple Heart recipients and their loved ones to attend, as well as anyone who wishes to honor their service. Thank you! ... See MoreSee Less
