Sept 27: Gold Star Mothers & Families Medallion Dedication

Join us in the Legacy Garden on Sunday, September 27, at 8:30 AM for a special dedication ceremony as we unveil the Gold Star Mothers and Families Medallion. Gold Star Mothers are women whose children died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. They are part of the broader Gold Star Families community, which includes parents, spouses, siblings, children, and loved ones of fallen service members. The Gold Star tradition began during World War I, when families replaced a blue service star with a gold star to honor a loved one who made the ultimate sacrifice. This ceremony is a meaningful opportunity to honor their loss, courage, resilience, and enduring legacy. We remember. We honor. We never forget.
